John "Jack" Thomas Croghan, Sr., 94, of Harpers Ferry, WV passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Hospice Inpatient Facility in Kearneysville, WV.

Born April 18, 1923 in Frederick, MD, he was the son of the late Michael Joseph Croghan, Sr. and Hilda Louise Brown Croghan.

He was of the Catholic faith and a veteran of the US Navy.

Jack was a member of the Harpers Ferry Cooking Club. He was on the bank boards of BCT, Bank of Brunswick and Bank of Thurmont. He was a member of the Civitan Club in Montgomery County, MD and a member of the Frederick Fraternal Order of Elks, and Frederick American Legion.

He is survived by two daughter, Barbara Derr and husband, William of Harpers Ferry and Catherine Hite and husband, Edward of Port Charlotte, FL; two sons, John T. Croghan, Jr. and wife, Linda of Hyattstown, MD and Joe Croghan and wife, Suzanne of Harpers Ferry; two sisters, Patricia Warner of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Kathleen Tolar and husband, Tom of New York, NY, seven grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. Jack loved being with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 68 years, Edith Calloway Croghan in 2014, one brother, Michael J. Croghan and two sisters, Mary Frances Rebert and Sarah Mason.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial and inurnment will be private. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
