John "Johnny" Arthur Winpigler, age 50, of Martinsburg, WV passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at his home, surrounded by family, in the care of Hospice.

Born April 22, 1974, in Leesburg, VA, he was the son of John Arvin Winpigler and Kathy Diane Oden Dinterman. Johnny was a 1992 graduate of Brunswick High School.

Johnny is survived by his wife of four years, Ivy Harper; three sons, Robert, Lance, and Corey Winpigler, as well as their mother, Cynthia Dillow Winpigler Diaz; stepson, Forest Avery; mother, Kathy Oden Dinterman; stepfather, Charles "Jr." Dinterman; brother, Michael (Erica) Winpigler; his dog, Daisy; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father, John Arvin Winpigler; maternal grandparents, Howard "Buck" and Betty Ann Oden; paternal grandparents, Douglas and Thelma Winpigler; and one uncle, Paul Robert Oden.

Johnny was a very hardworking man who enjoyed providing for his family. Initially, he worked for PEPCO in a coal yard. Then, he became an animal caretaker and floor leader at the NIH Animal Center for over two decades.

Johnny had many passions in life including hunting, fishing, camping, horseshoes, and both playing and watching sports. He loved football, and he was a life-long San Francisco 49ers fan. Wrestling was another favorite. Johnny was an avid bowler. He loved nothing more than spending quality time with his friends and family.

The family will receive friends at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. with a brief service at 11:00 by Hospice Chaplain, Wayne Clark.
