John Henry Writt, 78, of Shepherdstown, WV passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.

Born October 14, 1942 in Martinsburg, WV, he was the son of the late Charles Curtis Writt and Myrtle Costella Writt.

He was of the Episcopal faith.

Johnny was a lifetime dairy farmer, and grew up on the Writt Farm. As far as he was concerned with farms, animals and gardening­-- "the bigger the better".

He is survived by one daughter, Carol Writt-Burkett and husband, Brady of Shepherdstown; one son, James Writt and wife, Deborah of Shepherdstown; six grandchildren, Daniel, Kirstin, Kaitlyn, Amanda, Amber and Allysyn, seven great-grandchildren, Cole, Wyatt, Cheyenne, Sierra, McKenna, Kenzley and Easton and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Kenny Martin, Ann Mills and Mary Liz Frazier and three brothers, Curtis, Lowell and Donald Writt.

Services will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 10:30 am at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Pastor Jack Payne officiating. Interment will be in Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town, WV.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

A fellowship meal will be served after the burial at the Second Baptist Church, 911 N. High Street, Martinsburg, WV 25404.
