Obituary

Jonathan Raynaldo Medina, age 21, of Ranson, WV, passed away September 2, 2026.

Born April 10, 2005 in Orange, CA, and he was the son of Danesha Carter Gomez.

Jonathan was a graduate of Washington High School, class of 2024, where he enjoyed his time in art class and driver's education. In his earlier school years, he participated in Air Force JROTC. He worked his first job in the online pickup center at Walmart, which helped him save for his first car which he purchased in Summer of 2024. He was currently employed and excelled as a cashier at “The Eatery” at Hollywood Casino Charles Town.

Jonathan had many hobbies that he liked and discussed with others. He enjoyed drawing and sketching, hiking, working out, raising his plant from a seedling (which he got from a plant swap at work), reading Bezerk Manga, watching anime, gaming with friends on his Playstation and most of all, star gazing, galaxy exploration and observing the planets.

In addition to his mother, Danesha, he is survived by his younger sister Leona, Grandpa Greg, Grandma Betty, Aunty Kerri and Aunty Karla.

He was preceded in death by his Great Grandpa Albin, Great Grandma Lois, Great Grandpa Ray, Great Grandma Jean, Aunt Danae and his pet dog Lickster.

His funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, located at 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV.

Pastor Paul Nance will be officiating, and Jonathan's Uncle Keith will be presenting the eulogy.

The family will receive friends, for his viewing, at the funeral home on Monday, September 14, 2026 from 5-7pm and again on Tuesday, September 15th from 10-11am, before his service.
