Jose Esaud Martinez, 77, of Ranson, WV, passed away on May 16, 2026, at the Care Haven Center in Martinsburg, WV.

Born on March 14, 1949, in El Salvador, he was the son of the late Hermes Segovia and Evarista Martinez. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Parish of St. James the Greater.

Jose is survived by Marjorie Skinner, his partner and caregiver of more than three decades; his five children, Eva Martinez, Saul Martinez, Dalila Martinez and her husband Williams, Mario Martinez and his wife Janneth, and Julia Martinez and her husband Milton; the mother of his five children, Hilda Brizuela De Martinez; his ten grandchildren, Xiomara, Alberto, Keiry, Samuel, Vanessa, Odalis, Héctor, David, Christopher and Sofia; his four great-grandchildren, Kenneth, Matthew, Eilyn Dariana and Daniel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, at 10:00 A.M., at St. James Catholic Church, 49 Crosswinds Drive, Charles Town, WV, with Father Manny as Celebrant.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., with a Rosary and Vigil at 7:30 P.M., at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV.
