Obituary

Joyce Marie Embrey "The White Madea", 70, of Ranson, WV, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at home.

Born on March 8, 1955, in Loudoun County, VA, she was the daughter of the late James Collyer and Annie Woodward. She was a member of the Grace Free Will Baptist Church.

Joyce is survived by two daughters, Jaunita Haun (Jamie Walsh), Marie Heminway (John); one son, Justin Wellman; six grandchildren, Brittany, Briana, Matt, Joe, Graci, Tobias; six great-grandchildren, Junior, Elena, Everett, Graclyn, Bubby, Harper; four sisters, Martha Haun, Shirley Williams, Linda Locke, Brenda Delawder; and her former husband, Halto Embrey.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Colleen Haun; one great-granddaughter, Layla Mae Heminway; three sisters, Mary Sowers, Susan Embrey, Betty Sowers; three brothers, Billy Cameron, Jimmy Collyer and Roy Cameron.

Services will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026, at 2:30 P.M., at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV, with Reverend Bucky Chapman officiating.

The family will receive friends two hours prior to service at the funeral home.
