Joyce Archer Pilcher, 82, of Harpers Ferry, WV passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Jefferson Medical Center in Ranson, WV.

Born January 9, 1939 in Richmond, VA, she was the daughter of the late Archer Buchannon Pilcher and Berkeley Shaefer Pilcher.

She was a member of St. Peters and St. James Catholic Church in Charles Town, WV.

Joyce retied from the NIH as a personnel management specialist. She attended Longwood College in Farmville, VA. After college she went to work for the printing office for the Federal Government and then the National Credit Union Administration.

She is survived by two nieces, Susan Hall  and Sandra Alpher, two nephews, John Pilcher and Richards Pilcher, sister-in-law, Marion Pilcher, cousin, Jackie Ormeadd, and numerous extended family and many dear friends in the Harpers Ferry area.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Richards Pilcher.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 8, 2021 at St. James Catholic Church, 49 Crosswinds Drive, Charles Town, WV with Father Timothy Grassi as the Celebrant. The Rosary will be held at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in St. Peters Cemetery.
