Karen Elaine Hood's Obituary
Karen Elaine Hood, 36, of Harpers Ferry, WV passed away on Monday, September 28, 2009 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 13, 1973 in Washington, D.C. and was the daughter of Michael and Eileen Hood of Harpers Ferry, WV.
She was a member of St. James the Greater Catholic Church in Charles Town, WV.
She was a student at James Rumsey, pursuing the culinary arts. She loved to bake, her church family lovingly referred to her as the "cookie lady".
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Rebecca Hall and her husband, Brian, of Harpers Ferry, WV and Martha Hood of Falls Church, VA; four loving nieces, Rosalie and Kiah Hall, and Allegre and Abigail Wethington and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Agnes and John Burke and paternal grandmother, Edith Charlton Hood.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 2, 2009 at 11:00 am at the St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 60 Crosswinds Drive, Charles Town, WV with the Rev. Fr. George Pucciarelli as the Celebrant. Interment will be in St. Peters Cemetery in Harpers Ferry, WV.
The family will receive friends at the Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, US 340 at Halltown Road, Charles Town/Harpers Ferry, WV.
