Leonard Edward Housden, Sr., 76, of Charles Town, WV passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at his residence.

Born May 16, 1948 in Shenandoah Junction, WV, he was the son of the late Rufus Housden and Elsie Hite Housden.

He was of the Baptist faith.

Leonard was retired from the Halltown Paperboard with over 42 years of service. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by three daughters, Kim Strange and Duane, Jennifer Housden and Andrew Robinson and Jessica Thomas, all of Charles Town, two sons, Leonard Housden, Jr., and Kelly of Ranson and Dwayne Housden and Sherry Nicholson of Charles Town, eight grandchildren, Brandon, Chloe, Christian, D.J., Kaden, Kameron, Noah and Shae, three great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Ivy and Wailyn, three sisters, Angie Banks, Linda Reed and Cathy Kline, two brothers, Glen and Donald Housden and his faithful K-9 companion, Buddy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lucy in 2018 and 14 sisters and brothers.

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 19, 2024 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV. Interment will follow in Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town, WV.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 6-8 pm and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
