Lois Jean Welsh, 90, of Bakerton, WV passed away Friday, June 16, 2023 at Jefferson Medical Center in Ranson, WV.

Born January 23, 1933 in Burlington, WV, she was the daughter of the late Calvin W. Stickley and Ollie Mildred Bean.

She was raised by her loving grandfather, Rufus W. Stickley in Burlington. Lois graduated from Keyser High School May 28, 1950. She was the first female WV State Road Dispatcher and later retired from the Jefferson County Clerks Office in Charles Town with 21 years of service.

She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Bakerton, WV.

She is survived by her daughter, Traci Welsh Taylor of Charles Town, WV and her son, Patrick M. Welsh and fiance', Wendy Earle of Hedgesville, WV; grandchildren, Suzanne Kave and husband, Richie, Kaila Lamp and husband, Matt,, Kallan Welsh and Daniel Nalley, two great grandchildren, Madison Ann Lamp and Nora Grace Lamp, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She is also survived by her brothers,  Calvin W. Stickley and wife, Jean,  Richard Stickley and wife, Pam, and Casey Stickley, sister-in-law, June Welsh, brother-in-law, Ira Parks and special friend of the family, Donnie Weller.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Parks and her beloved husband, H.M. Welsh 'Skip" who died September 16, 1994. They were married for 70 years.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on SATURDAY, JULY 1, 2023 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV. A private interment will be held at Mountain View Cemetery in Sharpsburg, MD
