Lucille Virginia (Dixon) Kitts of Brunswick, MD passed away peacefully at the Klein Hospice House in Mt. Airy, MD, on March 10, 2026. She was 88 years old. She was the daughter of the late James Silvilis Dixon and Lola Christine (Holler) Dixon of Brunswick, MD. Mrs. Kitts was predeceased by her husband of 72 years, John David Kitts, Jr. of Brunswick, MD; daughter, Marilin Virginia Allison of Brunswick, MD; grandson, Lewis Warren Allison III, of Brunswick, MD; and daughter-in-law, Teressa Blickenstaff-Kitts, of Shepherdstown, WV.
Mrs. Kitts is survived by her son , John Kitts and wife, Anne, of New Branfels, TX, daughter, Michelle Kitts-Boismenu and husband, Paul, of Brunswick, MD; brothers, James Milton Dixon and wife, Patsy, of Boonsboro, MD, Thomas Melvin Dixon (Theresa), of Harpers Ferry, WV; and son-in-law, Lewis Warren Allison, Jr., of Brunswick, MD; Mrs. Kitts had 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; along with her favorite companion, her beloved dog, Harley.
Mrs. Kitts was born in Frederick, MD and attended Brunswick High School. She worked As an aide with disabled children, manager at a convenience store, manager at the Red Coach Restaurant and Bar, and manager at the Hawaiian nightclub.
Mrs. Kitts loved spending time canning and sitting on the front porch swing, watching hummingbirds. She enjoyed eating crabs and seafood and could do it for hours. She loved her family with her whole heart and loved spending time with her friends.
She will be greatly missed by her four special friends, Delores Garten, of Daytona, FL, Brenda Allen, of Middletown, MD, Vicky Smith, of Shannondale, WV, and Gordy Thompson, of Sharpsburg, MD.
Services will be held on March 23, 2026, at 5:00 P.M., at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV, with Reverend Robert Minnick officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Frederick County Humane Society, 1786 N. Market Street, Frederick, MD.
