Lynn James, 81, of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia passed away Monday, February 28, 2022 at Hospice of the Panhandle, IPF in Kearneysville.

Born July 22, 1940 in Stumptown, Virginia, he was the son of the late Tyler James and Layton Dickerson James.

He was on Christian faith.

Lynn was a loving father and was a strong man to have endured all that he did. He was considered the mayor of the mountain.

He is survived by one daughter, Holly White and husband, Dennis; two sons, Paul and wife, Eva and Phillip and wife, Clara all of Harpers Ferry; seven grandchildren, P.J., Aaron, Dennis, Danielle, Collin, Nicole and Aubrie; one brother, Clyde James and two brothers-in-law, Charlie Hahn and Wayne Moore.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years, Julia Ann; one brother, William James; three sisters, Ada Hahn, Thelma Conners and Dorothy Yowell.

Services will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 11:00am at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road,Harpers Ferry, WV. Interment will follow at Hillsboro Cemetery in Hillsboro, VA.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
