Marie S. Hough, 97, of Charles Town, WV, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at her home.

Born October 19, 1926 in Winchester, VA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Singhas and Virginia Elsea Singhas.

She was a member of the Roman Catholic Parish of Saint James the Greater.

Marie was employed during earlier years at Byrd's Orchard. She and Charles continued their lives together in dedicated work and management of their Oakwood Farm. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was exemplary of the loving mother matriarch who helped her husband farm the American dream.

She is survived by, one daughter, Bobbi Roper of Kearneysville, WV; two sons, Eddie Hough and wife, Donna of Charles Town, WV, Todd Hough and wife, Susan of Charles Town, WV; five grandchildren, Eric Roper, Stacey Hough, Shane Roper, Dawn Nick, Sarah Hough; ten great-grandchildren, Trey, Matthew, Savannah, Landon, Jena, Ashton, Gavin, Colin, Abigail, and Carter; and her caregiver, Violet Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, Charles E. Hough in 2014; one grandson, Chad Hough; one sister, Yvonne Lickey; one brother, Phil Singhas; and one son-in-law, Steve Roper.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024 at 11:00 A.M., with Father Timothy Grassi as Celebrant, assisted by Deacon Dave Galvin, at Saint James Catholic Church, 49 Crosswinds Drive, Charles Town, WV.

Family will receive friends at the church before the Mass, at 9:30 A.M.

Interment will be private at Edge Hill Cemetery.
