Marshall Leon Nick, born on September 2, 1952, in Martinsburg, WV, passed away on September 12, 2024, at the Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Facility in Kearneysville, WV, surrounded by his beloved family and friends.
He was a devoted family man who brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. Leon is survived by his loving wife, Diana Nick, whom he married on December 18, 1982, and his son, Michael Stanley. His heart was especially filled with pride for his granddaughter, Keisha Kitts, and grandsons, Taylor and Tyler Stanley, as well as his great grandsons, Vaughn and Breyson Kitts.
Known affectionately as Leon,he dedicated his career to the sheet metal industry.
Leon was known for his outgoing personality and his ability to light up a room. He cherished family gatherings and enjoyed watching NASCAR, wrestling, football, and his favorite TV shows featuring John Wayne. His love for music was evident in his admiration for artists like David Allan Coe, Hank Williams, and George Jones.
A skilled sheet metal worker, Leon took great pride in his profession and was recognized as a hardworking individual who always put his family first. He adored his cherished pup, Wolfie, and loved nothing more than being surrounded by his family and friends.
Leon is also survived by his wife, son, grandchildren and his sisters, Joyce and husband Allen Painter, Betsy Rinker, and Jane and husband Audry Howell, along with many nieces, nephews, and brothers-in-law , William Martin and James Bartlett , and sister-in law, Becky Nick. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Anna Hamilton Nick, and siblings, Johnny Nick, Rev. Franklin Nick, Melvin Nick, Michael Nick, Rev. Jerry Carpenter, Harry Carpenter, Larry Carpenter, Shirley Martin, Thelma Bartlett and Mary Armstrong.
Leon lived his life with a commitment to his Baptist beliefs and was a true Ford man through and through. His legacy will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege to know him.
Leon will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and friends and the impact he made on the lives of those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of many and will be dearly missed.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 23, 2024 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV, with Reverend Thomas "Huffy" Hoffmaster and Reverend Donald Nick officiating.
