Martin "Marty" James Valentine, 65, of Summit Point, West Virginia passed away Monday, August 1, 2022 after a short battle with cancer.

The youngest of three sons, he was born January 18, 1957 and was the son of the late Robert Worthy Valentine and Dorothy May Hinkle Valentine in Reading, Pennsylvania.

He attended Reading High, and graduated from Messiah University where he was outstanding in basketball and chess. He was a longtime medic with Berks County Fire Department, and after his marriage and relocation to West Virginia he began a new career as an award winning salesman, most recently with Regency Furniture at the Ashley Furniture location in Frederick, MD. Marty enjoyed trains, both model trains and riding the rails, and was quite the travel enthusiasts having visited most of the 50 states and over 30 countries!

Marty is survived by his wife, Laura; his son, Zachary; grandson, Zachary Jr., both of Richlands, NC; two brothers, Robert Valentine of Hagerstown, MD and Daniel Valentine of Reading, PA as well as two dogs, Mr. Darcy and Lily Rose.

A memorial services will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with visitation one hour prior to service.
