Born August 9, 1924, in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of the late Milton and Mary Roth.
Words were always very special to Mary. She loved reading and writing poetry, and stories. She was a great scrabble player and always up for a game if any of her grandchildren wanted to play. When introduced to Wordle, she was hooked and played right up to the end.
She loved being with family and friends to celebrate special occasions or just the simple pleasure of a dinner out with those she loved around her. She loved and was loved
She is survived by daughter Carol Del-Colle and her husband Mike; three grandchildren, Michelle Del-Colle, Mark Del-Colle and wife, Heather, Andrew Del-Colle and wife, Emily; three great grandchildren, Madeline, Anthony, and Hart; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, Edward J. King; Sisters, Dolores Scollick, Margaret Evans, Florence Timmons; grandchildren, Anthony Del-Colle, Kate Del-Colle.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at Saint James Catholic Church, 49 Crosswinds Drive, Charles Town, WV, with Father Timothy Grassi as celebrant, assisted by Deacon Dave Galvin.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church, with a Rosary at 9:30 A.M.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Cathy Funk for all the excellent care and loving concern she has given to Mary as her patient over these past 16 years in West Virginia. We are very grateful.
We would also like to thank the staff of Harmony at Martinsburg for all they have done over the last 3 years that Mary was a resident there. They truly made her feel welcome and well cared for.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. James the Greater Catholic Church (Social Concerns).
