Mary Ratliff, 63, of Harpers Ferry, WV passed away at her home on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, after an extended illness.

Mary is the daughter of the late Alfred & Hazel Smith of Benwood.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Ratliff; daughter, Dawn Allen; son-in-law, Patrick Guessford;  her one and only favorite person, her grandson, Evan Allen all of Harpers Ferry; three sisters, Teresa Ann Smith , Paula Smith  and Elizabeth Smith all of Benwood and multiple nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and many dear friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis and Patrick Smith and nephew, Sammy Smith.

Mary loved her grandson Van and each day she made sure to tell him she loved him to the moon and back. She loved to read true horror stories, make jewelry and spend time outside enjoying the nice weather. On weekends she and her daughter were off to find deals at yard sales. Mary always had an open room for anyone who needed a place to stay.

A celebration of life will be held in Harpers Ferry at her home on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 2-4 pm and at a later date in Benwood.
