Mary Ellen Staubs-Showalter, passed away Friday, September 25, 2026 at her home in Glen Burnie, MD in the loving care of her ex-partner, Gary Delpriore.
She was born November 20, 1956 in Baltimore, MD to the late Gilbert Louis Staubs and Mary Ellen Horn-Staubs .
Mary Ellen was a Labor and Delivery Nurse for 10 years at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, MD.
She had a passion for genealogy, country music and the beach.
She is survived by her son, Robert Kent Showalter, Jr. and wife, Abrielle Lind Gentry of Baltimore, MD, her daughter, Amanda Michelle Showalter and husband, Dominic Nathaniel Purdham of Baltimore, MD, brother, Kenneth Lee Staubs of Harpers Ferry, WV and sister, Ann Marie Staubs of Harpers Ferry, WV, 10 grandchildren, Robert Kent Showalter, III and Makayla Renee Showalter, both of Glen Burnie, MD, Aiden Gary-Wayne Showalter of Fernly, NV, Alex Garrett Wilson and Ellie Rose Wilson, both of Pasadena, MD, Tyler Aaron Wilson, Sylias Jaxxon Purdham, Legend Ary Purdham, Mariah Faith Purdham and Arayah Sunshine Purdham, all of Baltimore, MD. and one great-grandchild, Jameson Matthew Wayne Wilson of Pasadena, MD. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gary Wayne Wilson, Jr. of Baltimore, MD and two brothers, Gilbert, (Sunny) Louis Staubs, II and Johnny Michael Staubs, both of Harpers Ferry.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral.
Following the service a Celebration of Life will be held at the Blue Ridge Mountain Volunteer Fire Company, 181 Keyes Gap Road, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425.
Interment will be in Mt. Holly Springs, PA on Thursday, October 8, 2026.
