Melissa "Missy" Dawn Portrey, 53, of Charles Town, WV, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021.

Born December 19, 1967, in Ranson, WV, she was the daughter of Mary Glascock and the late Charles N. Gray.

She was of the Methodist faith.

Missy was employed at the Dairy Queen in Ranson, WV. Anyone who knew her knew she never met a stranger.

Melissa is survived by one daughter, Kayla Portrey and partner Duane Jones; one son, Steven Portrey; two sisters, Anna Spofford and Patricia Waddell and spouse, Alexander Waddell; one brother, Charles "Chuckie" Gray; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her step father, Robert Glascock.

A memorial service will be held Friday, August 20, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV, with Pastor Danny Nick officiating.
