Mercer Logan Jackson, beloved son of Rachel and John Mercer Jackson, died only a few moments after his birth on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, West Virginia.

Preceded in death by his grandfather, Reverend Kent Logan Jackson, Logan is survived by his loving parents, Rachel and Mercer Jackson; paternal grandmother, Mary Lyman Jackson of Culpeper, Virginia; maternal grandparents Cecelia and Howard Ritchie of Bowie, Maryland and Ernest and Linda Zampelli of Ellicott City, Maryland. Logan also leaves his aunt Virginia Kemper Jackson of Los Angeles, California; uncle Walter Jackson also of Los Angeles, California; uncle Joseph Zampelli and his wife Hannah of Odenton, Maryland, as well as a large and loving extended family by whom he will continue to be loved and honored.


The funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, September 25, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church and Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, 18230 Barnesville Road, Barnesville, MD 20838. Burial will follow immediately in St. Mary's Cemetery adjacent to the church. Family and friends are welcome to arrive at the church any time after 11:00 am for prayer and visitation.
