Merle Edward Anderson, Sr., 85, of Charles Town, WV passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023 at the Veterans Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV.

Born February 7, 1938 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Merle Baker and Mary Anderson.

He was a veteran of the US Air Force.

Merle loved karaoke, painting, telling stories and working on anything mechanical.

He is survived by his wife, Lily M. Ashby, at home; one daughter, Debra Remsburg and husband, John of Burkittsville, Md; one son, Merle E. Anderson, Jr. and partner, Christy Brown  of Summit Point, WV; three step-sons, Bobby, Marvin and Billy Ashby, one sister, Judy Harnish, four brothers, Bob, Dick, Mike and Larry Cline and numerous grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two daughters, Lorie Jo Anderson and Brenda Faye Stucks, one sister, Eloise Mann and one brother, Kenny Cline.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 25, 2023 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV.
