Michelle Shawena (Wilt) Griffith, 57, of Charles Town, WV departed this life into the hands of Our Lord and Savior on February 12, 2025.
Michelle "Shell" "Blondie" entered her earthly life on April 24, 1967 in Greensboro, NC to the late Everett Ronald Wilt and Sara Goldie (Shaw) Wilt.
After graduation from Oakland High School in 1986 in Murfreesboro, TN, she met the love of her life, Scott Griffith of Charles Town, WV.
Michelle was employed at National Geographic and for 25 years in the Trust Department at the Bank of Charles Town.
She was a member of Charles Town Baptist Church, where she served in the 3-Kindergarten Department and Fellowship Committee. She loved the snack time with the children at VBS and helped for many years as well with various activities.
Michelle and her special friend, Stacey, would occasionally volunteer at Meals on Wheels and help out wherever they could when asked. She was always ready to give a helping hand whenever she was asked.
Shell was an avid NASCAR fan and always looked forward to the fall race in Concord, NC, traveling with her adopted sister, Rocky, where they were privileged to experience the race as VIP's, that only a few have a chance to do. This was because of a special family friend she had for many years.
Shell was a Pittsburg Steeler's fan which she watched many times with the Griffith's and Ashbaugh's and also NASCAR, which would get pretty loud and funny at times.
Michelle is survived by her husband of 38 years, Scott Griffith of Charles Town, WV, sister, Rhonda Oja and (Terry) of Negaunee, MI, brother, Christopher Wilt of Murfreesboro, TN, sister-in-law, Tracy Wilt of Lascassas, TN, nephew, Patrick Oja (Rebecca), Caleb Oja and Paxton Wilt, great nephew, Oliver Oja and great niece, Agsoka Oja. She is also survived by mother-in-law and father-in-law, Evelyn and James Griffith of Charles Town, WV, sister-in-law, Roxanne (Griffith) Ashbaugh, brother's in-law, Randy Ashbaugh and Todd Griffith, sister-in-law, Summer Griffith, nephew, Cody Griffith (Kaci), special great nieces, Margot Griffith and Souline Griffith, nephews, Levi Ashbaugh (Jessica) and Randolph (Scott) Ashbaugh and great niece, Lilith Ashbaugh.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Jonathan Wilt and her two special fur babies, Max and Digger.
Michelle loved her family and friends and she was loved by all who met her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Charles Town Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will be served following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Charles Town Baptist Church, Animal Welfare Society of Jefferson County or to Neurofibromatosis, research at The Little Tumor Foundation at littlesttumor.org
