Myra Kennedy Martin, 77, of Elkton, Md., died on Saturday, June 12, 2004 at the Christiana Hospital at Newark, Delaware.

She was born on June 10, 1927 at Martinsburg, W. Va. and was the daughter of the late Charles Curtis Writt and Myrtle Costello Writt.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of North East, Md.

She is survived by her husband, Howard Martin at home; two daughters, Susan K. Petlikowski of Port Deposit, Md. and Barbara Ann Nugent of Portland, Oregon; two sons, Howard C. Martin of Charlottesville, Va. and Douglas W. Martin of Bear, Delaware; two sisters, Ann Mills of Chester, Va. and Mary E. Frazier of Fairmont, W. Va.; three brothers, Hartman Writt of Harpers Ferry, John Writt of Shepherdstown and Donald Writt of Harpers Ferry; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and close friends, Lena Piatt of Elkton, Md., Jeannie Carroll of Perryville, Md. and Delores Givans of Elkton, Md.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Curtis Neill Writt.

Services will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2004 at 11:00 AM. at the funeral home with the Rev. Franklin Mills officiating. Interment will be in the Edge Hill Cemetery at Charles Town, W. Va.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services on Saturday.
