Nanette Pauline DeRonda, 101, of Charles Town, WV, passed away peacefully at home on May 3, 2026.
Born December 2, 1924, in Ossining, NY, Nanette was the daughter of the late Emil and Frances Minniti.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert DeRonda and her brother, Felix Minniti.
She was dedicated mother and devoted woman of the Roman Catholic Faith, and a member of the Roman Catholic Parish of St. James the Greater.
She is survived by her six children, Nanette (Valerie), Albert (Bridget), Daniel (Louise), John (Candice), Thomas (Kelly), and Francine. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Cathryn Mary DeRonda (Kevin), Elizabeth Holmes (Duane), Anthony DeRonda (Ashleigh), Emily Hosby; nine great-grandchildren, Alexandra Clark, Natalia Holmes, Raquel Holmes, Donovan Hosby, Delaney Hosby, Hayden DeRonda, Christian Anderson, Levi Anderson, Madison DeRonda; and one great-great-grandson, Nikolas Mason.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 10:00 A.M., with a Rosary 30 minutes prior, at St. James Catholic Church, 49 Crosswinds Drive, Charles Town, WV, with Father Grassi as Celebrant, assisted by Deacon Dave Galvin. The interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, in Harpers Ferry, WV.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV, with a Vigil and Rosary at 7:30 P.M..
Family and friends are invited to attend a luncheon following the interment at the church.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Beverley Johnson for years of support and friendship. We would also like to extend a thank you to Father Grassi for always being available in mom’s time of need.
