Patricia Ann (Hines) Dixon, 84, of Boonsboro, MD passed away peacefully with her husband by her side, at the ViVi Nursing Facility in Hagerstown, MD on October 4, 2026.
She was born February 17, 1941in Cumberland, MD and was the daughter of the late Gorman L. Hines and Ruth Jones of Knoxville, MD.
Patricia attended Boonsboro High School. She worked for C&P Telephone Company of Leesburg, VA as an operator, and after it’s closure she was promoted to secretary at the Hillsboro underground location, where she retired after more than 30 years of service to AT&T. She also worked for the Frederick County Government for an additional 10 years.
Pat enjoyed working in her flower garden and watching her hummingbirds and cardinals. She also enjoyed going to Brownsville Church of the Brethren and enjoyed making quilts for fundraisers and preparing and serving meals. Pat was a saved Christian and believed in the Lord and his son Jesus.
While in the nursing home, Pat had two special friends, Mrs. Nutter and Sandy Youngblood, that visited her every week.
Pat is survived by her husband, James M.W. Dixon, her sons, James Darren Dixon and wife, Angie of Boonsboro, MD, Dwayne Eric Dixon and wife, Indy of the Philippines and Dean Allen Dixon of Western MD. She is also survived by four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Gorman L. Hines, Jr. of Brunswick, MD.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 19, 2026 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Robert Minnick officiating. Inurnment will follow in Brownsville Heights Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Following the cemetery inurnment, the family would like to invite all to the Brunswick Volunteer Fire Department for a fellowship meal.
