Obituary

Patricia Ann Campbell, 80, of Middleway, West Virginia passed away Friday, December 8, 2023, in Berkeley Medical Center. She was born July 12, 1943, in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Charles and Ruth Stevens. Later, the family moved to Middleway where Mr. Stevens built their home on King Street and where Kenneth and Pat returned after both retired.

Pat was predeceased by two brothers, Charles Jr. (Buddy) and Fred Stevens; and brother-in-law, Ray Campbell, Jr.

Surviving Patricia are her husband of 58 years, Kenneth; four sisters-in-law Patricia Foltz (Larry), Ruth Gasper (George), Delores Seeders (Donald), and Rebecca Dahlstorm (Gordon); and nephew, Brad Foltz (Shelley). Survivors also include her canine companion, Oscar.

In May of 1961, Patricia graduated from Charles Town Senior High School. Eventually, she met Kenneth, and on March 19, 1965, the two were married in a small ceremony at the Washington Square Methodist Church in Hagerstown, Maryland.

For a few years they lived mainly between Maryland and Delaware because of Kenneth's job at the racetracks. Finally, they were able to settle in Laurel, Maryland.

Beginning in the mid-seventies, Pat became a civil servant, working her way up until she acquired a Top-Secret clearance in 1983, enabling her to move into the position of Secretary to the Commander at the U.S. Army Central Security Clearance Facility (CCF) at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. Pat worked there until her retirement in 2005.

Her yearly reviews were essentially the same: Excellent. Pat, both personally and professionally, was consistently described as loyal; dedicated; always helpful; a "competent, committed, professional"; a person with a "tremendous sense of duty and responsibility"; one whose "personal integrity is beyond reproach"; "model of professionalism"; a "bedrock of this organization"; and one who "knows what to do and does it right the first time." These constitute only a fraction of the praises Pat received. Accolades also came in the form commendations, certificates of achievement, and a service medal.

Services will be Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to funeral service

Interment will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Front Royal, VA.
