Phyllis Kathleen (Carter) Strickler, 62, of Inwood, WV, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at home.

Born January 11, 1963, in Leesburg, VA, she was the daughter of James Otis Carter, Sr. and Phyllis Margaret Carter. She was a member of Haven of Hope Tabernacle in Martinsburg, WV.

Phyllis loved to teach, she homeschooled her children for years, she taught Sunday school, she was the youth choir director, played the piano in the church for years and was an exceptional artist.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis is survived by two daughters, Crystal Strickler, of Inwood, WV, Tammy Unger and husband, Jason, of Inwood, WV; two sons, Preston Strickler, of Kearneysville, WV, Daniel Strickler, of Inwood, WV; three grandchildren, Chloe, Khyra, Zayne; two brothers, James Carter, Jr. and wife, Roxanne, of Harpers Ferry, WV, Thomas Carter and wife, Rose, of Martinsburg, WV; special aunts, Shirley Schooley, Sandra Carter, Margie Brooks; step-mother-in-law, Helen Strickler; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; last but not least, her K-9 companion, Candy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Roy Strickler, Jr.; grandson, Trevor; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lee Roy Strickler, Sr. and Hilda Strickler.

Services will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at Haven of Hope Tabernacle, 1206 Williamsport Pike, Martinsburg, WV 25404, with Pastor Brent Markee officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant View Memory Gardens, 2938 Charles Town Road, Kearneysville, WV 25430.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church.
