Regina Julianne
Swann
August 31, 1959 – December 18, 2023
Regina Julianne Seidel Swann, beloved wife of the late Mark Swann, passed away December 18, 2023.
Regina was a loving and vibrant force in life. Her family was always the center of her attention for all 64 of her too brief years on Earth. From the time she was a small child, she always wanted to be a doctor or nurse, caring for others, both human and not. One of her early passions was everything about horses, a love she would ardently pursue for many decades, becoming a very accomplished equestrian in Dressage and Cross Country.
After graduating from Holy Redeemer School in Kensington, MD and Immaculata Preparatory School in Washington, DC, she achieved her goal of RN from Marymount University (Arlington, VA) in 1984 and later her graduate degree there. She served for several years at Washington, DC area hospitals, including the challenging task of chief nurse on the oncology ward at Arlington.
She went on to be lead agent at the Massachusetts Mutual Insurance Agency, and later became a successful real estate agent with Winchester Homes in Northern Virginia.
In the early 2000's she bought a home in Harper's Ferry, West Virginia, where she met and married her husband, Mark Swann.
Regina is survived by her father, Marquis R. (Diane Warriner) Seidel, her mother, Norma Seidel, her sisters, Therese (Kevin) Seidel Friedman, Mary Catherine Seidel, by brothers, Nicholas (Christine) Seidel, Thomas Seidel, Marquis (Paula) Seidel, Zachary (Jill) Seidel, and her aunt Cynde (Steve) Seidel Magidson.
Regina will be laid to rest and memorialized in a private ceremony in Harper's Ferry and a Funeral Mass at St. James Catholic Church, 49 Crosswinds Drive, Charles Town, WV on February 23, 2024 at 10:00 am with a Rosary to be held at 9:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, gifts, or cards, her family ask for your prayers and loving wishes for comfort especially for her father, Mark and mother, Norma. Any donations you wish to give in her memory will be gratefully received by The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org) or Day's End Horse Farm Rescue in Woodbine, MD (defhr.org).
