Obituary

Richard Ned Hitchcock, Sr., 84, of Martinsburg, WV passed away Monday, December 16, 2024 at his residence.

Born August 23, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri, he was the son of the late Charles Douglas Hitchcock, Sr. and Helen Schaefer Hitchcock.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Middletown, MD.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, children, Jean Hitchcock, Richard Hitchcock, Jr. (Victoria)

Caroline DeFrancesco (Christopher), Jill Coda (Christopher) and Brett Hitchcock, grandchildren, Ashley Homeyer, Brandon Diaz (Taylor), Abby Hitchcock, Jackson Hitchcock, Hannah Hitchcock, Audrey DeFrancesco, Chandler Coda, Evangeline Coda, Calvin Coda and Charlie Coda, sister, Jane H. Longo and great grandson, Kash Diaz.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by daughter, Anne Feldmann, son, Joseph Hitchcock, son-in-law, Keven Feldmann, grandson. Andrew DeFrancesco, and two brothers and four sisters.

Richard's favorite things were his family and wood burning.

Services will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 7321 Burkittsville Road, Middletown, MD 21769.

Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery on Carrollton Manor in Frederick, MD.
