Richard Wayne Nelson, Jr, 37 of Green Cove Springs, FL formerly of Harpers Ferry was called HOME way too soon on June 29, 2024.  Richie was born on December 10, 1986 in Leesburg Virginia to Richard Wayne Nelson, Sr. and Bessie Frances (Jackson) Nelson.

He graduated from Jefferson in 2005, Blue Ridge Community College in 2012 with an Associates Degree in HVAC.  He was self-employed in the HVAC business.

In additional to his parents, he is survived by the love of his life, Ashley Robinson, his daughter, Legacy, son, Richie III and his unborn son, Malachi, who is due in December.

He is also survived by his sister, Haley (David) Salas, niece Parker, maternal grandmother Gail Jackson, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Richie was of Master Mason and belonged to the Cabul Lodge 116 in Green Cove Springs, FL.  He loved softball and will be fondly remembered for his witty humor and smartass comebacks.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 9, 2024 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.

Services will be held Wednesday, July 10, , 2024, at 2:00 PM at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry WV 25425 with Pastor Jennifer Verdugo officiating.  His sister, Haley, will deliver his eulogy.  Honorary Pallbearers are Roger Painter, Danny Seal, Daryl Wolfe, Jeff White, Morgan Nelson, Timothy Jackson, Tyler Cotton and Garrett Henry.

Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Following the service, Richie's family would like to invite all to the Bolivar Community Center for a potluck luncheon and fellowship.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to his Mother, Bessie, for his children.
