Richard Lee Staubs, 93, of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023 at Grenich Care Home in Bunker Hill, WV.

He was born September 29, 1929 in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia and was the son of the late Charles Staubs and Georgia Wilt Staubs.

Richard loved hunting, fishing and had a passion for gardening. He adored his great-granddaughter, Hannah, who called him "Gaddy".

He is survived by one son, Daniel Staubs and wife, Joyce of Harpers Ferry, step-daughter, Jean Ehrlich and husband, David of Jacksonville, FL, one granddaughter, Karen Thompson and husband, Robert, one great-granddaughter, Hannah, two sisters, Ruth Manuel and Reba Ring and nephews, cousins and extended family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia Staubs in 2022.

Services will be held Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 11:00 am at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Chaplain Tony Pirrone officiating, Interment will follow at Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town, WV.

The family will receive friends Monday, January 23, 2023 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
