Roberta “Betsy” Wall, age 91, of Ranson, WV, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Betsy was born on November 17, 1934, in Shenandoah County, VA, to Meredith R. and Laura V. Anderson. She grew up in Winchester, VA, and was a proud graduate of Handley High School, Class of 1953. On June 13, 1953, she married Robert K. Wall of Charles Town, WV, her husband of 56 years. Together, they raised six children.

In 1979, Betsy completed her Licensed Practical Nursing Training at James Rumsey Vocational Technical Center. She went on to work at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, where she spent 22 years in the Obstetrics Ward-a job for which her six children had certainly given her plenty of experience!

Betsy found her greatest joy in spending time with her family. She was a Boy Scout Den Mother, a member of the Senior Women’s Club, and an active member of Charles Town Presbyterian Church. Betsy and her husband, Bob, shared a love of travel and were especially proud to say that they had visited all 50 states, as well as many international destinations.

Betsy is survived by her five children, Michael and Carrie Wall of Virginia Beach, VA, Thomas and Eileen Wall of Charles Town, WV, Timothy Wall of Derwood, MD, James and Karen Wall of Middleway, WV, and Katherine and Marty Hunt of Shepherdstown, WV; eleven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Betsy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob, in 2009, and her son, Meredith “M.R.”, in 2004.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 11:30 A.M., at Edge Hill Cemetery, 604 E. Hunter Street, Charles Town, WV, with Pastor Scott Sassaman officiating.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Panhandle, 330 Hospice Lane, Kearneysville, WV, in Betsy’s memory.
