Roger Lee Thomas, 74, of Charles Town, WV passed away February 1, 2023 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.

Born November 11, 1948 in Luray, Virginia, he was the son of the late Elmer Lee Thomas and Bertha Knight Thomas.

Roger was a longtime horseman at the Charles Town Racetrack.

He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Ann Thomas, four sons, Brian and wife, Sara, Joseph and wife, Michelle, Chris and fiancé, Melissa, Vernon Heavner and wife, Lisa, three daughters, Amanda White and husband, Timmy, Holly Watson and Becky Silkworth and husband, Chris,  two brothers, Vernon and wife Linda and "Jr" and wife, Ginger,  15 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Deborah Ann Kidwiler Thomas, three sisters, Anna, Lucy and Susie and one brother, Roy.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Pastor Bucky Chapman officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Lutheran Cemetery in Bolivar, WV.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Zachary Thomas, Tyler Thomas, Travis Long, Jermane McDonald, Todd Moore and Geoff Schneider.

Following the interment there will be a gathering at the Independent  Fire Hall in Ranson, WV.
