Ronald "Ronnie" Allan Wachter, 56, of Ijamsville, MD passed away Monday, July 1, 2024 at home with his wife by his side. Ronald was born July 4, 1967 to Edna (Gue) and Meredith "Buck" Wachter. He is Survived by his beloved wife, Lorrie Ann Briggs-Wachter. Lorrie and Ronnie met in 2009 at the shop of Hubble Trucking and married July 13, 2023. Ronnie enjoyed traveling anywhere Lorrie wanted to go. They enjoyed many trips together to Florida, Ocean City and the Natural Bridge, VA.
Ronnie followed in his father's footsteps and started working for his Uncle Mehrle Wachter (Wachter Paving) in the black top business as a teenager. In 1997, Ronnie began working for his cousin, Kenley Hubble, as a truck driver hauling stone out of Barrick's Quarry in Woodsboro, MD. For many years, Ronnie pushed snow for Hubble Trucking. He enjoyed hanging out at the shop and socializing, especially with his fellow truck drivers. With the exception of a year or so, Ronnie showed up for work at the same location his entire career until his illness in January 2023.
During Ronnie's illness, he enjoyed going to the horse barn at the Frederick Fairgrounds and helping his wife Lorrie, who works for Ronnie's cousin, Colby Hubble.
Ronnie is survived by a daughter, Holly Wachter, a son, Kyle Wachter both of Fairfield, PA, and five siblings, Shirley Beard (Larry), Gale Wachter, Tommy Wachter (Franny), Rick Wachter (Roxanne), and Jerry Wachter (Doris), and sister-in-law Julie Wachter. Ronald grew up in New Market and came from a large family. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Ronnie was especially close to his nephew, Darren Wachter with whom he grew up. He also had a great love for their two dogs, Queeny and Bermay.
In addition to his parents Ronnie was preceded in death by four siblings, Nancy Stull, Mary Jane Wiles, David and Donald Wachter.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at 145 Donald Drive, Charles Town, WV 25414 , or the Frederick County Humane Society at 1832 Rosemont Avenue, Frederick, MD 21702.
