“Rose” Rosemary Marie Clark, 67, of Falling Waters, WV, passed away on August 24, 2026, in Hagerstown, MD. surrounded by her husband and children.

Born on May 5, 1959, in Martinsburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late George and Neda Shackelford. Rose graduates from Hedgesville high school in 1977. Passionate about her work in the educational system, Rose continued her studies and obtained a Masters in Education at the age of 52.

A talented creator, Rose could work in many art mediums, but especially excelled in painting, quilting, and crochet. Rose loved her yearly quilting traditions with family, and time with her quilting group, Sisterhood of the Thimble.

Rose’s greatest joy was no doubt her family. Her children knew their mother as a cornerstone of their family. She was an advocate as well as a warmhearted grandmother. And as a companion to her husband she was loving, kind and thoughtful. She was a true blessing to all the lives she touched and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her loving husband, Tod Clark at home; two daughters, Shirley Koch and husband, John of Kearneysville, WV, Jennifer Holder and fiancé, Chris of Martinsburg, WV; one son, Joseph “Joe” Bowers and partner, Daisy of Martinsburg, WV; sixteen grandchildren; Shawn, Robert, Melvin IV, Hope, Ashley, Erica, Ethan, Brendan, Andrew, Brian, Robert , Macy, Mackenzie, Madilyn, Parker, and Cooper, six great-grandchildren, Jackson, Colson, Carson, Bella, Landon, and Jackson D.; two brothers, Robert Shackelford and Rodger Shackelford.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Melvin Bowers III; two brothers, Richard Shackelford and Russell Shackelford.

Services will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, at 2:00 P.M., at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV, with Pastor Bruce Carpenter officiating.

The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

A luncheon will be hosted following the service at New Beginning Full Gospel Church, 2671 Williamsport Pike, Martinsburg WV, hosted by Sisterhood of the Thimble.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Autism Awareness.
