Obituary

Rosemary Falck, 85, of Sharpsburg, Maryland, passed away on August 22, 2025, at Edenton Retirement Community in Frederick, MD.

Born on February 8, 1940, in Newark, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Alice Mattingly Rauch.

Rosemary was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Shepherdstown, WV, where she was actively involved for many years, including serving as a hospitality minister.

She graduated from St. Francis De Sales High School in Newark, OH, and later earned her associate's degree from Hagerstown Community College in 1989.  Rosemary dedicated 28 years to Hagerstown Community College, where she began as the secretary to the Director of Human Resources and eventually became the Director herself—a role she held until her retirement in 2002.

In retirement, Rosemary became an avid quilter; her many creative works are treasured by family members. She also joined her husband, Gene, on many adventures, including traveling to car shows together with their 1982 Collector Edition Corvette. Rosemary was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and could always be counted on to be present and help with special events and celebrations for her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 65 years, Eugene Falck; daughters Annette Mason of Shenandoah Junction, WV, and Virginia Cohen and husband Randy of Takoma Park, MD; son Robert Falck of Sharpsburg, MD; grandchildren Christine Riese and husband Kyle, Alyssa Welch, Brianne Dodson and husband Major, Mattingly Cohen, and Arthur Cohen; and great-grandchildren McKenzie and Morgan Riese, Bryan Welch, and Quinn Dodson. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Eric Falck, and his wife Sally of Boise, Idaho, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
