Rowland "Pete" Bee Williams, 84, of Shepherdstown, WV passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022 at his residence.

Born December 19, 1937 in Nocona, Texas, he was the son of the late Irb Cofer Williams and Arminda Cardine Allen Williams.

He was an US Army Veteran and of the Christian faith.

Pete earned his Bachelors at North Texas State University. He was retired from NASA as an engineer with 37 years of service and was heavily involved with Apollo 11 and Apollo 13.

Pete was an avid Cowboys fan, enjoyed golf and loved raising chickens and ducks. He thoroughly enjoyed Mexican food.

Known to family as 'Papa Pete", he was a devout Christian and dedicated family man, who will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Kay, at home; three daughters, Leslie Bashioum and husband, Chris; Lana Lang and husband, Mike and Laura Baldwin and husband, Jim; one son, Keith Williams and wife, Sarah; 16 Grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jimmy Williams and wife, Cheryl and Allen "Rocky" Williams and wife, Anne; one sister-in-law, Janette Williams; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Bobby Dillard, one brother-in-law, Jim Dillard and one brother, Donald Williams.

Services will be held at 2:30 pm on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Pastor Neal Dillard officiating.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
