Roy "Rocky"
Myers Mason, Jr.
November 17, 1953 – February 1, 2023
On February 1, 2023 at Inova Fairfax Hospital, Roy "Rocky" Myers Mason, Jr., of summit Point, WV, with loving family by his side, peacefully went home to his Lord.
He was born November 17, 1953 in Baltimore, MD to loving parents, Roy M. Mason, Sr. and Bettye Kondner Mason.
Rocky spent his early years in 4-H, showing cattle, building friendships, 4-wheeling, hunting and always big brother to his siblings. In later life, he enjoyed pheasant hunting with his son and the companionship of his dogs, especially Wind.
A mechanic by trade, he owned and operated Rocky's Auto Service in Charles Town for many years before going to work for the William A. Hazel Co. of Chantilly, VA.
His greatest accomplishments in life are his two children, Roxanne and Rocky, and being loved by many.
Rocky is survived, at home, by his loving wife, Gretchen, step-daughter, Heather L. Wines and step-grandson, Jabari Chichester of Manassas, VA, and step-son, Justin N. Wines, daughter, Roxanne M. Noland and Andy of Summit Point, WV, and grandchildren, Micaiah, Camdyn, and Mason, son, Dr. Rocky M. Mason and Wendy of Lexington, KY and granddaughters, Addison and Ainsley, sister, Penny M. Liston and Chris of Summit Point, sister-in-law, Annette F. Mason of Uvilla, along with many nieces and nephews.
Rocky was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Bettye Mason, grandparents, Elmer and Esther Mason and August and Virginia Kondner, brother, William B. Mason and niece, Jessica LaRue.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am the Charles Town Presbyterian Church, 220 E. Washington Street, Charles Town, WV on Friday, February 10, 2023 with the Reverend John Bethard officiating. A Masonic burial will follow at the Middleway Masonic Cemetery, 105 East St., Kearneysville, WV.
