Russell "Bill" William Brackett, 84, of Martinsburg, WV passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021 at the Veterans Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV.

Born April 10, 1937 in Millville, WV, he was the son of the late Russell Brackett and Mabel Costello Brackett.

He was a veteran of the US Army.

Bill was of the Christian faith and was retired from William A. Hazel Company with 28 years of service.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dianne, at home; one daughter, Rhonda L. Brackett and Linda McCluskey; one son, Donald Lee Longerbeam and Emily Linston, two step-daughters, Lisa Kerns and husband, Robert and Teresa Kerns; two step-sons, Darryl Dodson and Donna and Kevin Dodson and Shelly, nine grandchildren, two sisters, Lorraine Armstrong and Irene Shears and husband, Duane and one brother, Gerald Brackett and wife, Joyce.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Leo Brackett, two sisters, Eva L. Dignazio and Corrine Mills, his faithful K-9 companion, "Bo", step-son, Glenn Dodson and grandson, Herbert James Dodson.

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Rev. Bucky Chapman officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg, WV.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8 pm.
