Samuel Martin Oden, Jr., 59, of Kearneysville, WV, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the Hospice of the Panhandle.

Born January 17, 1965 in Ranson, WV, he was the son of the late Samuel and Mazie Oden.

Sam was a pipeline foreman for over 40 years, with the last 25 years of service with S.W. Rodgers in Gainesville, VA. He was an avid outdoorsman and sports fan. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife, and his favorite destination being the beach. He attended Crossroads Church in Martinsburg, WV.

Sam was a kind-hearted man who was loved by many, and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his loving wife, Valerie, at home; two daughters, Jessica and Ashley; two sister, Tammy Longerbeam husband, Bruce, and Sherry Parker; one brother, Vincent Oden; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Sammy Oden III; one sister, Kathy Oden Pauley; and one brother, Timmy Oden.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Friday, December 20, 2024 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.
