Scott Anthony
Levac
September 6, 1959 – January 21, 2025
Scott Levac was born on September 6th ,1959 in Massena New York to Joseph Levac and Ritha Levac as the youngest of 6 children. Following high school he attend SUNY Brockport before enlisting in the US Army as a Russian Linguist.
It was at Russian Language school in Monterey California where he would meet his wife Patricia ( Meyer ) Levac and meet many of their lifelong friends.
A long honorable career as a Cold Warrior included many trips to foreign lands and adventures across the globe. His family would live in Germany, California, Hawaii and ultimately the Washington DC area. He would retire as a Master Sergent in 2001 the recipient of the Legion of Merit among many other commendations.
During the army years Scott and Pat would welcome three sons, Thomas, Joel, and Gage where the family lived in many different places and experienced many exciting new things together.
Following his Army career, Scott would work as a Department of Defense Civilian at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, as one of the organization's plank holders. He worked on many programs defending our nation and remained a dedicated patriot, always thinking of his country. He finished his career as a contractor at Advanced Research Associates where he worked on bringing programs to his adopted home in West Virginia and continued the mission of supporting the United States. Some would say he was a spy.
Scott and Pat would welcome two daughters in law, Stephanie (Sanderson) Levac and Kathryn ( Berger ) Levac as well as 4 grandchildren, Henry and Asher Levac, and Josephine and Vivian Levac. At the time of his passing Scott and Pat were anxiously awaiting the birth of their 5th grandchild.
As an avid Fly Fisherman Scott would handmake bamboo rods and try and catch the perfect fish in Belize and the rivers of the eastern United States. A frequent golfer Scott was always looking to improve his game. He was also known for his love of cooking and enjoyed hosting family and friends.
Scott was a loved, funny, intelligent man. He loved his wife of 42 years dearly, and always made time to talk with his large extended family. He was the center of the family universe and with his passing, life will never be the same.
We love you Scott, Dad, and Pop Pop.
As a graduate, instructor, and future board member of the Defense Language Institute, a place that would decide the course of his life, and is the source of many of his fondest memories of families and friends, the family requests donations be made in his name to the Defense Language Institute ( DLI ) Alumni Foundation which supports the students, faculty, and staff of the school that Scott Loved. The foundation works to make the best military linguists for the United States.

Viewing will be held at Eackles-Spencer and Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV, Sunday January, 26th from 6-8pm, with a Rosary and Vigil to be held at 7:30 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will held at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 49 Crosswinds Drive, Charles Town, WV Monday the January 27, 2025 at 10 AM with lunch to follow. At the luncheon the family welcomes comments by attendees on the life of Scott Levac.
