Shannan Michelle Alger, 41, of Frederick, MD passed away Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Frederick memorial Hospital in Frederick, MD.

Born August 23, 1981 in Olney, MD, she was the daughter of John Alger and Susan J. Pocock.

Shannan was a graduate of T.J. High School, Class of 2000. She attended the Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetics, pursuing her career becoming the owner and operator of Shear Envy in Frederick, MD. She was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, best friend, and aunt.

She is survived by one son, Myles Johnson, at home; father, John Alger and wife, Susan M. Alger, Myersville, MD; mother, Susan J. Pocook, Martinsburg, WV; three sisters, Marilyn Crampton and husband, Al, Lee Ann New and husband, Jason, Mary Watkins and companion, Dave; companion, best friend and Myles's father, James Johnson; four nephews, Ethan, Collin, John, Jr., Collan; three step-children, Jada, Tyrique, Nemo; James's mother, Betty Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Sullivan and Evelyn Alger; maternal grandparents, Jim and Ann Wellhouse; one nephew, Aiden New.

Services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Father Steve Stahley officitating. Interment will follow in Fairview Lutheran Cemetery in Bolivar, WV.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 25, 2023 from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
