Stephen Quinton Luckett, better known as, "Lucky", was a kind, helpful and giving man.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alberta Shelton Luckett Tolbert, of New York and his grandparents, Ida Rebecca (Edwards) and Benjamin Franklin Shelton, Sr. of Halltown, West Virginia, who raised him.

In his younger life he ran a store that was called Lucky's Bait & Sign Shop. He Painted signs, was an artist and could paint portraits, landscapes and more. He also was in two movies, "Ghost Stories of Harpers Ferry", and "Puddin' Head Wilson".

In his mid-life he became a notary and a professional tax preparer. In the early 90s he became a member of a free food program that helps the needy, "Beware Against Drugs". When the president of the organization passed, he became the leader of it, and he was very proud that he was helping so many people.

He was proud of everything he did, but the food program was the most important thing to him. He would even spend his own money if donations ran short just to help people out. The food program was special to him, thanks to "Mountaineer Food Bank" and everyone there, plus "Shenandoah Sales and Service", Dave Tabb, Amanda and Tator, who kept the truck running to keep "Beware Against the Drugs" going.

Three people that he loved to talk to, and worried about this last trip for him to the hospital, Douglas Dozier, Nicole Wilt who he would call "Nicolie", and Daisy Nicewarner who he would call "Daisy Waisy".

Lucky was a friend of many and a friend of all regardless of what he was doing.

Larry M. Wilt, Jr., Lucky's best friend and caregiver at the end. Lucky looked out for me and my family ever since I can remember. I love him, I miss him and I spent the last couple of years looking out for him.

Anyone who knew him will never forget him.

A memorial service will be held on September 18, 2025, at 2:00 P.M., at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV, with pastor Ed Hall officiating.
