Virginia Ruth Sagle, 99, of Kearneysville, West Virginia passed away Monday, January 30, 2023 at her residence.

She was born October 12, 1923 in Pleasant Valley, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Reverend Lemuel Chapman and Clara Easler Chapman.

She was member of Leetown United Methodist Church.

Virginia was a graduate of Shepherd College. She began her career as a home extension agent in Jefferson County and continued her career as a teacher. She enjoyed traveling after retirement.

She is survived by her daughter, Jeneane Webster and Richard Lyons; two sons, Christopher Sagle and Jeffrey Sagle and wife, Rebecca; grandchildren, John, Allyson, Keith, Ryan, Stephanie and Daniel; 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard Sagle; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Ann Geyer and Don Geyer and one great-great-grandson, Rodney.

Services will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 11:00 am at Leetown United Methodist Church, 11133 Leetown Rd, Kearneysville, WV with Rev. Debbie Mooney officiating. Interment will follow at Edge Hill Cemetery in Charles Town, WV.

The family will receive friends Monday, February 6, 2023 at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425 from 6-8 pm.
