Obituary

Virginia Adeline Staubs, 97, of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia passed away April 5, 2022 at the Grenich Home Care in Bunker Hill, West Virginia.

She was born March 15, 1925 in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia and she was the daughter of the late Samuel Hawk and Daisy Lancaster Hawk.

She was a member of Chestnut Hill United Methodist Church.

"Gin" enjoyed cooking everything and especially loved to can and bake. She was also an excellent seamstress. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her great-granddaughter, Hannah.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Staubs; one daughter, Jean Ehrich and husband, David from Jacksonville, FL; one son, Daniel Staubs and wife, Joyce from Harpers Ferry, WV.; four grandchildren, Ronald "Bud" Kern, Rebecca Neveils, Keith Owings and Karen Thompson as well as numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Phoebe Balsamo; granddaughter, Deborah Voorhees and sister, Catherine I. Painter.

Services will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 10:00am at Eackle-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV, with Chaplain Anthony Pirrone officiating. Interment will follow at Edge Hill Cemetery, Charles Town, WV.

The family will receive friends Friday, April 8, 2022 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
