Walter S. Cool, 94, of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022 at his home.

Born August 19, 1927 near Evan Mills, New York, he was the son of the late Stanley Cool and Louise Mehitable Drake Cool.

He was of Christian faith and attended Covenant Baptist Church.

Walter is survived by one daughter, Paula C. Gates and husband, Fred of Shepherdstown; one son, Donald A. Cool and wife, Marie of Belmont, NC; four grandchildren, Jennifer Nemecek, Rebecca McClurkin, Zachary Gates and Breton Gates; six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Harriett True Cool; one sister, Clara Cool Turbyne and three brothers, George, Truman and Donald Cool.

Services will be held at a later date.
