Wendell Stansfield Ogden of Harpers Ferry, WV passed away on Wednesday February 28, 2024 at the Hospice of The Panhandle Inpatient Facility in Kearneysville, WV.

Wendell was born on November 18, 1936 in Fall River Massachusetts and was the only son of the late Everett and Margaret Ogden.

After graduating from Utah State University, he joined the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service.  He retired from the service as Director of The Fisheries Academy in Leetown, WV.  He spent his retirement years tending his vineyard, fishing, traveling, hiking, spending summers at his camp in Maine, and volunteering at the Appalachian Trail Conservancy in Harpers Ferry.

Wendell is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Ellen Ogden; his four children, Andrew and his wife Jennifer, Cynthia, Douglas and his wife Sharon, and Matthew and his wife Laura; and eight grandchildren, Holly, Amy, Adam, Lydia, Stephanie, James, Lily and Nathan.

The family will host a Celebration of Life in the future.
