William Duffy Albertson, 86, of Shenandoah Junction, WV, passed away on April 12, 2026, at Jefferson Medical Center in Ranson, WV.

Born on April 14, 1939, in Richland, NC, he was the son of the late James Liston Albertson and Eva Belle Rouse. He was a member of Covenant Church in Shepherdstown, WV.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served on the USS Francis Marion. William retired from the U.S. Government Printing office with 33 years of service.

He is survived by two daughters, Deborah Louise “Debbie” Smith and husband, Rick of Kearneysville, WV, Kari Elizabeth Albertson Matthews and husband, Colin of Shepherdstown, WV; one son, William David Albertson and wife, Melinda of Northville, MI; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Shields and husband, Austin, Amelia Jones and Husband, Blake, Caroline and Anna Smith, Lily and William Albertson, Josephine and Cordelia Matthews; two great-grandsons, Ellis and Noah Shields; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Louise, in 2017; one sister, Pat Horner; three brothers, Jimmy Albertson, Leslie Albertson, Allen Albertson; and one infant grandson, James Albertson.

Services will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 11:00 A.M., at Covenant Church, 7485 Shepherdstown Pike, Shepherdstown, WV, with Pastor Ken Oyerly and Pastor Terry Crawford officiating.

Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Martinsburg, WV.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV.
