Obituary

William Paul Reed, Jr., 77, of Ranson, WV passed away Friday, January 31, 2025 at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV.

Born July 27, 1947 in Frostburg, MD, he was the son of the late William Paul Reed, Sr. and Naomi Willetts Reed.

He was a member of Bolivar Pentecostal Church.

Bill was a graduate of Charles Town High School, Class of 1965 and Shepherd College Class of 1970. He taught Physical Education  at Paige Jackson Elementary, where he was also Head Teacher, and gave 30 years of service there.

Bill loved God, his family, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Elaine Weller Reed, at home, one daughter, Beth Chapman and husband, Scott of Kearneysville, six grandchildren, Nick and wife, Emmee, Andrew, Amber, Hannah, Emmy, Drew and wife, Ashley, one brother, Jess Reed and wife, Sharon, two sisters-in-law, Sue and Niecee, daughter-in-law, Elizabeth, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, William Reed, III and two brothers, Mark and Wayne Reed.

Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Bolivar Pentecostal Church, 87 Old Taylor Lane, Harpers Ferry, WV  with Pastor Eric Harding and Rev. B.G. Turner officiating.  Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery in Martinsburg.

The family will receive friends at the Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV on Wednesday from 6-8 pm.
