Matthew Ray Thompson's Obituary
Matthew Ray Thompson, 41, of Harpers Ferry passed away on Monday, September 5, 2011, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.
Born on December 19, 1969, in Martinsburg, WV, he was the son of William D. Thompson and the late Thelma Kidwiler Wandling.
Matt was an equipment operator in the construction industry.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Bill and June Thompson of Middleway; five sisters, Ineata Gavin and husband, Michael, Annette Gavin, Heidi Baliko and husband, Eric, Brandy Evans and husband, Tom, and Andrea Brumbaugh; grandfather, H. Vernon "Pop" Kidwiler; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Thelma and Carl Wandling.
A funeral service will be celebrated by Father Larry Gesy at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2011, at the Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, US 340 at Halltown Road, Charles Town/Harpers Ferry.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Welfare Society of Jefferson County, P.O. Box 147, Charles Town, WV 25414.
